Capturing the Caribbean Charm

I recently discovered this charming collection of tiles by the Porcelain Superstore, called Havana. Channelling all things Cuban, the Havana collection of wall and floor tiles, is packed with colour and mesmerising patterns; they also boast all of the uniqueness you admire of a handmade tile because of the intricate detailing and intense colour combinations.

Playful and vibrant, these tiles are inspired by the traditional cement tiles found in Cuba’s buzzing capital; my grandfather on my mother's side was from Cuba, and I have always wanted to go there, but I have not had the opportunity to, so I continue to seek inspiration from afar for my food, fashion and design from this creatively rich part of the world. I have always loved the fact that Cuban architecture wonderfully captures many of my favourite interior design styles, such as, Baroque, Art Deco, Art Nouveau and Eclectic to name a few.

“Our Havana collection might be inspired by authentic Cuban tiles, but these are modern beauties that look as gorgeous in contemporary as they would within period properties.

They are incredibly versatile and look just as good on the wall as they do the floor. Perfect for injecting a style statement into the home.” Abbas Youssefi - Director of Porcelain Superstore

The Havana collection is available in three colourways: Dark, Olive and Blue and prices start at £45 per m2.
