Brad and Melissa's colourful peacock themed wedding
Within seconds of seeing Brad and Melissa's wedding photos, I fell in love with it. Fabulous, elegant colour inspired by peacock feathers, which can ben seen through so many elements of their day - wedding stationery, florals, spectacular reception decor, bridesmaids dresses, Melissa's eye make-up and even the feathers on the bridemaids' shoes!
In terms of themes, this really is up there as one of my favourites.
Deidre Lynn, who superbly captured Brad and Melissa's September wedding, suggested the running theme for their wedding, was 'Love is Patient'. She tells us why...
"Melissa knew long ago that Brad was “the one” – the day the cute older boy moved in across the street she was hooked. Her Dad even mentioned her schoolgirl crush in his speech, accompanied by pictures of her middle school doodlings with Brad’s name all over them. Rumor has it she even drank Dr. Pepper for a year after finding out this was Brad’s favorite drink and it’s possible her first car purchase (a Monte Carlo) was influenced by Brad’s last name being Montgomery. This led to that and one night they met for real and Melissa's patience paid off... This story really makes me smile!
THE Reception. Yes, it needs to be capitalised it was that amazing. Fear not – no peacocks were harmed during the making of this event. Pumpkin tortellini and pumpkin cupcakes – need I say more? Photo booth that was never empty. Christy and I even made a quick appearance in it.
Dancing to “Sweet Melissa”…just could not be any more beautiful, there wasn't a dry eye in the house when Melissa danced with her father. Even Deidre shed a tear.
The party was fantastic, wigs were worn, dancing did.not.stop, tuxedo shirt sleeves were cut off, and a fantastic time was had by all."
