Reel Weddings | Wedding filmmakers

Good morning lovelies, I hope you're all having a good Tuesday.

I'd like to introduce you to one of our new featured wedding specialists - the talented wedding filmmaker Aaron from Reel Weddings.

I love their natural documentary style, which takes great skill to capture that whilst remaining professional and blending into the background.

I asked Aaron to tell us a little bit more about Reel Weddings. Over to you, Aaron...

"When Hannah asked us to write something about the films we make, our collective brains went to mush. It kinda felt like being that awkward kid in school who shys away when the attention comes on you, and this time was no different. Anyway this is us:

We are Aaron, Andrea and our daughter Anoushka (aka the mini A-Team), and we love seeing people in love. We love it so much that it is what we do for a living and it is how we began our own story.

Back in August 2006 our wedding was the first one we filmed. Well, when we say we, we do mean a colleague shot it for us and Aaron edited it. It was a little rough around the edges but felt soooo natural that it could be something we could take to a professional level. Wizz forward 5 years and we still love all the fun and joy of capturing the memories of two people saying 'I do'.

Most of our couples choose us because they say our work feels so fun and natural. We guess this is probably due to us letting the day unfold itself and capturing the moments as they happen, rather than dictating the day. The best footage we get is when a bride and groom are just able to relax, enjoy the day and be themselves.
Fact. We now blend into the wedding so much that a recent bride described us as the 'Ninja Filmographers'. Considering we didn't assassinate anyone on the day we have to assume she meant that it felt like we weren't even there. At least that's what we hope she meant!

Weddings are soooo full of great little moments but for us, as long as the couple are having fun then we know the whole day will be a blast. Although sometimes it is quite awkward when the mother of the bride gets very drunk and makes a bee-line to grab the bum of one of our assistant shooters (the same who filmed our wedding)! True story, but we'll let your own imagination handle that image ;-)"

Thank you Aaron, really interesting to hear how it all started. Take a look Jen and Greg's wedding film highlights - love this!
