London bespoke wedding dress designer - Jenny Lessin
I have a particular fondness for the talented Jenny Lessin and her beautiful, and always unique wedding dresses. Her light, bright studio is full of fabric samples, dresses in the process of being created and a huge design table where Jenny sketches out ideas for you and shows you swatches of fabric from her huge collection.
Jenny has a degree in textiles/embroidery, which lead her into making one-off pieces rather than fashion. She’s made individually commissioned textiles and clothing for 25 years but for the last 5 has concentrated on bridal wear which she loves and now does exclusively.

Jenny’s studio is filled with inspiration, boxes of embroidery samples, beads and vintage trimmings. French lace motifs and handmade organza flowers are displayed on linen dummies.

"Bridal wear is for me the most rewarding work for my skills and interests. I have years of experience designing and fitting different shapes and sizes and of interpreting clients ideas. When I meet a new client I consider the mood and location of the wedding and their personality as well as their looks and style."

"I bring that together with an obsession with beautiful fabrics, beading, laces and making my own embellishments. The process is a collaboration starting with sketches and samples, then a toile (mock-up) of the dress, to perfect the fit and refine the style on the body. In my experience brides want and appreciate that level of quality and attention to detail, I get completely immersed in each dress! My overall style is creative, contemporary and relaxed. My brides tend to be interesting and varied women looking for a way to get married that reflects who they really are."

Jenny’s love of fabrics means she works closely with specialist suppliers in order to source the idea fabrics for each dress. When appropriate, she can collaborate with bespoke jewellery designers, embroiderers and accessory makers.

A bespoke dress can take up to six months to complete and require at least three fittings. Prices start at £1750. If you would like to make an appointment with Jenny, please call 020 7263 2490 or visit her website www.jennylessin.co.uk
